This is printing on fabric…it’s called breakdown printing or deconstruction printing. I am having so much fun working with it. When I’m printing/ painting work l it feels like I’m flying. I just started using the paste in a little plastic bottle with a point. I started at one corner and just went around the whole piece almost like hieroglyphics or stream of consciousness in one setting. Any one else experience this while working?
No Rules
Series of new technique, breakdown printing on going..
No Rules
Whole series of silk scarves created using breakdown printing method.
Also paint on with fabric paints and use permanent markers.
Each scarf is approximately 10″ by 6′ in silk. I sew two printed scarves of similar color and design together for a more luxurious feel.

Need for rules
So why does it take rules?
Making handmade scarves in my studio like a little pixie. There where hours spent in creating this stunning piece. Layers upon layers of colors added just so.

Only to take it to the next step and rinse it. Whoops e I forgot to fix the colors first. What is it called again?
Mordant a chemical used to set the color. In this case you can use steam or heat. But first please don’t rinse the fabric before setting color as you will rinse out all your work.
Lesson learned!
On being
Quote from interview by Ms Tippett with Joann Macy “Yeah. That’s right. World is lover. Yeah , That’s right. World is lover. World is self. And it’s OK for our hearts to be broken over the world. What else is a heart for?”
Wildly beautiful so created this art piece with that in mind.

Mom bookkeeper
#mom # decided #painting I will paint, print, sew, photograph, make paper books and envelopes and generally create the next four months. Giving myself the luxury of spending time creating thinking and producing wonder. Filling my space with creative products. Saying NO to anything that takes me away from this time and space. To train to practice saying YES to me and what fills me. To work on controlling my thoughts to only focus on remembering God is always with me to not worry about it but push my thoughts back towards I am divine and in this moment everything is fine. I am fine I do not have to grasp or yearn for a thing. Just relax and create and when my mind wanders to bring it back to this point.
Science
Having fun exploring creating trying experimenting screwing up but showing up. So fun to pioneer new deconstructed printing science. Thanks for all the likes it encourages me as I move around in my head and private studio space. I think how lucky I am to have this work area filled with tools and books and warmth and light to following my very own road map.

Tiny book
#tiny #book my first little tiny book. So wanted to make one of these for awhile now. I printed the fabric then sewed it an then ironed it before I glued it on the cardboard. It makes me happy💕 I now want to add embellishments to every tiny page.

Printing
Printing at last, only did this technique once and dang forgot how to make impressions. Go back to the drawing table, in this case the book. Experiment and discovery await all who are willing to give it a try. Here I go!
Morning
Standing in anticipation of the moment. Gazing upon their presence and hearing them say I do. It was sweet and real in that moment. Sometimes life is full of joy and beautiful things. We were departing but we will come together again. Liking to use dreams, visions, things I can touch, things that touch me in my art. The questions now are how. Do I make a giant birthday cake, fortune cookie or big black bug? As the artist I get to decide.
