Woman and pattern:

new direction

I learn from those I love and I love easily. I am mindful of my needs and see how I can fit into the world around me. I learn from observations and relationships. I often am more of wall flower at big events and would rather not be seen but be able to see. I take it all in. My focus is on the details. My expression is through art. I am interested in painting big the female figure in oil with patterns in the style of Louis Comfort Tiffany and William Morris. Can’t wait till summer and I can paint in the garage. I need to start asking around for models and find a big comfortable chair.

Paper/Print/Book/2022

Drawing/doodle Lake Garda, Italy. What a trip! Started in Rome, took the train to Fabriano, Italy, about three plus hours. Oh the flight, trains, taxi, rides, delays, that is another whole post. Travel in 2022 after the lockdown is a mess. Wait or drive if you must go. Or if you must fly be prepared for delays.

What a great group of people! Made paper, created books with leather binding, created a print, painted on the streets of Rome, ate great food, meet great people, witness acts of kindness, ate gelato, created a little story about licorice, walked miles, sweated a bunch, got lost, listened to music on the street, and felt alive. When I arrived was exhausted but so excited to start this Adventure! Love to travel and had not been anywheres for years. Actually barely left my house, except to go to Paper Circle to make paper. Well, I am still doing that! @papercircle.org

Deliberate

Handmade paper tied into a bundle and dragged through the sand and lake then soaked in iron water and then markers used to draw trees upon. It’s the process the journey of self and others that’s always unfolding. In papermaking in making paper then putting pages together and dragging this around with you and then up wrapping it all, that the fun is found in your discovery. It’s showing up for your own life. What am I dragging around with me? What are you dragging around with you?

Pages tied together

This is so cute! Theater

First thing you do is gather tools.<image0.jpeg>
As you can see lots of stuff.
Then ask in adult to copy your drawing on heavy cardboard stock and cut it out for you.
<image1.jpeg>
Of course you don’t have to do all three just choose one. note: to adults I tapped my drawing to the window and put my paper over. It worked quite nicely with the sun shining.<image2.jpeg>

If you use cardboard you can’t see through it so just tape the drawing on a flat surface and cut around it.
Once you have your shapes cut out color using paint colored pencils crayons whatever you have.
I used colored pencils needle and thread buttons and yarn for my galloping horse.<image3.jpeg>
Used paint black markers and fasteners for my knight in armor.<image4.jpeg>
I used markers and wire for my unicorn .<image5.jpeg>
Then I sat back and enjoyed my efforts. I’m sure you can be more inventive than me. Then I got out the broom and dust pan and cleaned up a bit. I made a huge mess. Making art is messy. <image6.jpeg>
Have fun with your creations take some pictures to share with us. Miss you all.I even had a craft stick and glued on. <image7.jpeg>

Miss you all very much. Hope you are well.

Drawing

Simple exercise but not so simple discipline. Everyone got the tools, supplies, pencil, and paper. Disclaimer; I use an eraser too!

Oranges

It’s fun and for me a way to develop my imagination muscle. I challenge you too to try it. You might enjoy it. Another disclaimer you do not need to be any good at drawing. Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. So get out those pencil sharpeners today, and start drawing daily!
