La Bella France

Today was travel day from WWOOFing in Normadie area to Paris just for a few days, then on to final destination. Will be WWOOFing in Bordeaux France area. Tried to go to UNESCO, but they have that buttoned up very tight. Staying Airbnb apartment right across the street from there, super location.

My host family are wonderful, friendly, generous, funny, patient and very helpful.          La Bella France.

Organic Farms

I

This morning arrive very early knock on door and am offered tea or coffee. Milk the goats every morning and every night. I melt goats this day.

Then I visit a friends farm . Luc and Nicole . They have 500 trees on 25 hectares. Nicole’s family has been making cider here for three generations. The barn dates back to 1850.

Very hard work even with some modern upgrades. Everything is organic,  biologique. I am given a free bottle of sparking cider by Nicole as I leave.

The taste, smells, and feel is like cats ass hole. Do you know what I mean ?
Farmers are working in and through it all to create the most amazing products Not standardized or packaged but unique and real.
Isn’t life grand?

French people are marvelous!

Love the custom of the French greeting, kiss one cheek then the other. What a great equalizer. Just when you are thinking you are better or different you realize you are not.

Invited to a French family farm party. WWOOFING host said use red car if you like. So drove through the French country side a thrilling first. Motts have 70 goats and make cheese. Potluck style food all local cider an cheese.
Storytelling and music in the field for the children. Then drinks under tent with blue and yellow colored lights. Maybe 50 or more people actually knew a few of them.
Then young man and his daughter performed on organ, accordion, mouth harp and vocals. All French country songs people sang along. Closed my eyes and drank it all in. Felt like I was in movie of my life with sound track playing.

Market in Lisieux France

Grateful for this day

Cafe

Raspberries
Valerie
Rain
Kleenex
Big dog scared of lighting runs to secure spot beside me.
Rainbow

As I sit at the market tears come to my eyes as my heart is filled with the pure loss of those I have loved and the knowledge that all I will love will pass away.

My heart mind long to read Gods words and find comfort in his plan not mine.
My hope lies in the fact that God loves me his love for me can never ever be quenched .

Then I bite into a peach and it is sweet.

And I know that a God that made that can also make a life and death sweet complete.

Slow down

Where ever you are be fully there!

I’m sure some one has said that before, does not change the sentiment.
It’s in the slowing down that we realize what time we waste by being in a hurry.
Life is not emergency it is feast!
The flowers are really that purple!

Things On grateful list today

Getting a splinter out of my foot.
A shower
Beans
Birds chirping in the trees
The sound of a lawn mower.

Driving A Tractor!!

Going to a farm near by to work.

Not sure what have gotten into.
Excited to see it and to work.
Tired and a bit hungry, but can sleep when I am old filled with a life well lived.
I’m sure I won’t be disappointed.
The excitement I feel is enormous, driving a tractor. Working in the fields from 2:30 – 9:00

In the cab across the field in France I see a village in the distance and my mind drifts. I am suspended in this place. Six men are walking beside as the tractor slowly goes by they pick up the bales and put on the trailer.
The blue skies with white clouds over head, the sun on my body and a cool breeze on my face. The smell of the men ranging in ages from 20′, 30′, 40, and 50’s drags me in. They speak French it makes me smile I’ll take this over shopping any day.
The sound of the engine and the ache in my back connect me to this moment.
Making memories of my life.
We drive through the village and behind a church is a large building we back in and unload. Once climbing upon the trailer and throw bales down to the men fall into the trailer.  Shoes, boots, hair and nostrils are now filled with the dust from the hay instead flour from the bakery.
We stop at 6:40 and are offered a glass of beer, cider, water or apple juice.
My feet hurt and my stomach is growling at me. I love to listen to my body tell me I am alive.
Thank you Lord for the experience of heaven on earth!
I wish for others that they two will find such joy in living!
